Rotational Adjustment Principles

The Rotational Adjustment Devices or RADs are used to align the clipless pedal system on the bicycle. The RADs will indicate the natural rotational gait of the rider while pedaling the bike. If the cleats in a clipless pedal system are not adjusted correctly, the leg will still want to rotate to it's natural position, but the cleat-pedal mechanism will prevent it, which can cause rotational stresses on the knee, hip or ankle. These repeated stresses may lead to injury.
